STRATEGIC COMMUNITIES
Le Strategic Communities di AFIL
The Strategic Communities (SC) of AFIL are specialized working groups formed by members who share a common interest and dedication to strategic matters in Lombardy's manufacturing sector. These groups thrive on the participants' diverse expertise and interests.
Comprising key regional stakeholders, the SCs focus on recognizing challenges, requirements, and prospects in advanced manufacturing. Their primary objectives are to foster collaborations, establish synergies, and devise projects and solutions that promote industrial ecosystem growth and enhance overall competitiveness.

ABOUT
What About Machinery?
The Strategic Communities of AFIL have been remarkably active, generating several supply chain projects in response to the Lombardy Region's Event of Interest. Some of these projects have already been approved, with AFIL taking a leading role as the promoter. These initiatives have directly engaged AFIL's members and relevant stakeholders from the regional ecosystem. The supply chain projects have explored diverse themes, including circular economy applications in the textile and steel sectors, additive manufacturing, advanced polymeric materials, intelligent components, and safety and sustainability in food production.
Furthermore, the significance of other areas critical for the competitiveness of regional manufacturing has been recognized, such as the machinery and production systems sector, where Lombardy is at the forefront in Europe, along with the realm of vehicle electrification.
To further expand the regional ecosystem's reach, the SCORE initiative addresses not only the topics of the existing Strategic Communities but also incorporates insights from activities related to the Lombardy Region's Manifestation of Interest. One of the first pilot cases to test this approach within the supply chains is the “Macchinari evoluti e Sostenibili”event, which focuses on:
- Digitalization, industrial services, and new business models to achieve resilient and sustainable production, driven by cutting-edge machine generations.
- Promoting sustainability, circular economy practices, and embracing the green transition.
- Developing and fortifying the supply chain to foster growth and innovation.
