What About
Secure and Sustainable Food Manufacturing?
What about Secure and Sustainable Food Manufacturing The regional ecosystem boasts excellence in both technology and food production, presenting an exceptional opportunity for cross-pollination between these two realms. This convergence aims to conceive and implement solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of Lombardy's food companies.
To capitalize on these opportunities and address challenges in the agri-food sector, the Strategic Community “Secure and Sustainable Food Manufacturing”establishes connections between technology suppliers, within the manufacturing ecosystem, and the food processing and production industries. The primary objective is to enhance the safety and sustainability of this crucial sector for Lombardy, driving its competitiveness to new heights.
Within this Strategic Community, the Food Production Chain proposal has been developed, focusing on the following key areas:
- Widespread incorporation of automation, sensors, control systems, and remote maintenance elements through digitalization and robotics across the supply chain.
- Technological redesign of robotic and automation solutions as modular and scalable components.
- Adoption of de- and remanufacturing principles in design and production processes.
- Reconfiguration and functional upgrades of machinery and systems (revamping) for enhanced performance.
- Exploration of economic-financial models for the servitization of robotic, digital, and automated solutions.
